If you are on holidays on the Sunshine Coast and are looking for things to do that are away from the beach, there is a lot to choose from. Many guests ask us if the Eumundi Markets are any good.
The answer is yes. The Eumundi Market is great. One thing you need to know is that it is only open on Wednesday and Saturday. So don’t plan on going there any other day.
The Eumundi Market is well known for its artisan stalls, with lots of local crafts, clothing, and art on sale. It is an open-air market that can be really bustling with shoppers, dogs, and lots of interesting things to see.
There are also loads of food stalls, making this the perfect spot to pick up a gift while having lunch or a snack.
The whole town of Eumundi is worth a visit. There are two great pubs, Berkelouw Books, op shops, cafes, and lots of retail opportunities. Eumundi also has a great, shaded playground for the kids.
The main street in Eumundi on market day can get busy. Parking is available on the street and in various car parks around the market.
If you are planning a day around the market, you might also stop at the nearby towns of Cooroy and Yandina. While in Yandina, there is of course the Ginger Factory which many people visit on the same day as the Eumundi Market.
While you are up the more northern end of the Sunshine Coast, you could take the chance to visit Noosa (although that could be a day in itself) or Coolum for a swim.
Back at the market, each day features local live music to help set the vibe. There are well over a hundred stalls, and these days, it is more like three markets in one. You can get everything from jewellery, toys, clothes, makeup, kombucha, candles, thongs, crafts, plants, soap, a haircut, linen, cutting boards, chocolate, ceramics, and the list goes on and on and on.
Eumundi Market is about a half hour drive from our Nautilus Mooloolaba holiday apartments. There is ample parking and it is well worth the trip. If you have any questions about visiting the market, just let us know.
